Notes on installation and use: This is for MRPRO Version 5.1 sub July '12. (the sub dates are identified by the date on the file called mrpro517.xla in the product folder).

Minimum system requirements for MRPRO report generator: IBM PC compatible running Microsoft Windows XP or higher and Microsoft Excel 2007 or higher (2003 will work for rollups, but not for social media exchanges).
Windows 7-must be 64-bit or 32 bit OS, but must be 32 bit Microsoft Excel installation.

Minimum system requirements for MRPRO web clients- Important views of the reports generated by MRPRO report generator can be got on the local system, intranet and internet using the MRPRO Web client. This requires Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.5 or higher or Mozilla.

Exit all instances of Excel. Then download the ZIP file to a blank temporary directory. The extract the files using password to another blank temporary directory.(For simplicity always choose these directories, so that the path from C: is without spaces. That is
C:\temp1\temp2 is ok). After this see right below for New installation and further down below (just above the paragraph describing Use of MRPRO) for Updating existing installation.

Installation:
If getting a ZIP file, if you have not done so, download to blank temporary directory and extract using password to another blank temporary directory. For simplicity always choose these directories, so that the path from C: is without spaces. That is
C:\temp1\temp2 is ok
but c:\temp one\temp2 or c:\temp1\temp 2 or c:\users\my documents\temp1 or similar ones may require more steps for your installation.

At this point, if you have an existing installation of MRPRO, just run the FULLUPDATE from the extracted directory. Then after this, you can skip the other steps below and go directly to launch MRPRO.

If this is a new installation then do this after the above steps are completed:
From the Start button, go to Run (or if there is no Run button, open the directory where the extracted files are and double click to run a file), click browse, find the extracted directory and find the Setup file and run it. When it shows the directory to install to, click change directory and enter C:\mrp51 as the directory to install to. If it asks whether a directory can be created, Click yes. This installs the system components. These system components must be in the C:\mrp51 (exactly as shown, matching case) for the program to work properly.

Then from the Start button, go to Run(or find the files and double-click to run), click browse inside the directory and find the

TMORE.BAT file (for Windows XP and Vista and Windows 7 if it is 32 bit OS )

or

TMORE7.BAT for Windows 7, if it is 64 bit OS, installation and run it.

This installs the program components. This is done to the proper directory.

The dll should automatically register. If not, it will need to be manually registered (see below for manual registration of dll).

Then just open Excel without launching MRPRO, and the name for license registration must be entered, along with company name and physical location, in Column B.
Then save the file.

For Excel 2010, you must after installation, enable the C:\mrp51 directory as a trusted directory by going to Excel Options, Trust Center and set there.

Then exit Excel, you are ready to launch MRPRO.

Then you can launch MRPRO from the start button, in programs. For the very first time, always, go the Registration button on the very top of the main page, and click Click for User Registration. Then, ONLY when you accept license conditions, you can use MRPRO correctly loading modules appropriately.

If saving the file mrpro51, because you have some work in progress, always save as an xls file, not an xlsx file, unless you want to manually set the Addins each time to run the program. However, all other files such as masterlist may be saved as xlsx files or xls files.

If you are having installation problems:
Read the instructions first to make sure you are following exactly. Then, here are debug solutions to some rare instances of problems:
1. If you cannot Run the Setup file (this usually happens only when you have upgraded your OS on the same old computer or somehow messed up your hard drive), then chances are you will need to read the following page at Microsoft:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/180071
The following file (which, if you have a problem running Setup, you should download and run before running Setup) that is needed to be able to run the Setup is available for download from the Microsoft Download Center:
Msvbvm50.exe (http://download.microsoft.com/download/vb50pro/utility/1/win98/en-us/msvbvm50.exe)
2. Please ensure you have exited all instances of Excel before any installation step.
3. For manually registering the dll (which should normally show as being registered successfully when you run TMORE or TMORE7 as applicable:
From Start button, go to Accessories, Right Click on Command prompt, Run as administrator, and then if you have a 32 bit OS (like Windows XP, Windows Vista or 32 bit Windows 7)are in C:\windows\setup32, you type in (it is letter l and 32 in mrprodongoodl32)
regsvr32 c:\mrp51\mrprodongoodl32.dll
If you have 64 bit Windows 7, type in
cd..
cd sysWoW64
at the c:\windows\sysWOW64 prompt type in
regsvr32 c:\mrp51\mrprodongoodl32.dll

Alternate methods of installation:
If you are not following the specified procedures, or your computer has an updated operating system on the same old hardware etc, you may need some additional steps for installation-
If you just cannot run Setup even using the patch from Microsoft, then just copy the extracted files to the C:\mrp51 directory and then run myrekg.bat or myrekg7.bat (for 32 bit and 64 nit Windows systems respectively, or if this does not work, manually register the mrprodongoodl32.dll as described). Then manually add the Addin by going to Excel options, Addins, Manage Addins, then in the drop down browse for the C:\mrp51 directory and point to mrpro517.xla and make sure it shows in the check box (For Excel 2003, this is in Tools, then Addins). Then after this you can go to Addins menu in the Ribbon, and click the "Launch the MRPRO main console from here". This is your launch point for MRPRO.

If you can run Setup, but do not see any system files(mrpro517.xla or mrprodongoodl32.dll or mrpro51.xls) in the C:\mrp51 directory, manually copy ALL the extracted files over to C:\mrp51 and then manually register the dll and manually add the Addin as described above. However, you will be able to launch MRPRO from the Start button in this case (easier).

To remove a bad installation:
If you installed in the wrong directory, you must carefully un-install and re-install again. First, un-install MRPRO using the un-install program in the Windows control panel. The open the C:\mrp51 directory and delete the mrpro51.xla file. Also for Excel 2003, open Excel, under Tools, find "Addins". Click this, find the Addin called "mrpro517.xla and click it with the right button of the mouse and click delete. For bad installations, you must also do a general search of mrpro517.xla and delete all instances of them, by right clicking on the search result (if the file exists) and deleting. You must do this before attempting another installation. Make sure you download the zip again, especially if you are not sure whether you deleted any files in your ZIP file or your extracted directory.

After Installation:
After installation, if have received custom pre-registered files, you are all set to proceed using the program.
If you did not manually register as required, you will be prompted for your name, the Company name and physical location, which provides the necessary authorization. Product Registration is necessary for upgrades and email consultation.

If, for any reason, you cannot save the name registration license file, exit MRPRO, and Excel. Then reopen Excel alone(without MRPRO), if the MRPRO license registration page comes up, enter your name, company and physical location in Column B adjacent to the request cell, and save the file, then exit Excel.

Now launch MRPRO. The license page will only flash momentarily once to load the MRPRO library.
If you have not done so, go the Registration button on the very top of the main page (Sheet mncns) of MRPRO, and click Click for User Registration. Then, ONLY when you accept license conditions, you can use MRPRO correctly loading modules appropriately.

Each time you launch Excel, MRPRO launches some utilities for you. If however, you are an infrequent user of MRPRO, and do not want to load the MRPRO library and background functions each time you use Excel, you can go to Excel options, Manage, Addins, Manage Addins, and uncheck mrpro517. But then, if you want to use MRPRO, make to sure to re-check it prior to launching it (if need to, you will have to browse to the C:\mrp51 directory to point to the file) , if you do plan to use it later. This simple extra step means that you do not need to re-install if you want to use MRPRO, but it also means that you will need to make sure it is checked in Addins each time you launch MRPRO. The easiest is to keep it checked always (so you dot need to check it each time). When you open Excel, an instantaneous flash of your registration will appear and you will have some extra utilities in the Addins Ribbon menu.

For all buttons' usage read this Users Manual, and search by keywords in the text that correspond to the button command. Some buttons have mouseover in the nearby cell for clarifications, especially if there are some special procedures.

Updating an existing installation:
If getting a ZIP file, if you have not done so, download to blank temporary directory and extract using password to another blank temporary directory. For simplicity always choose these directories, so that the path from C: is without spaces. That is
C:\temp1\temp2 is ok
Then from the extracted folder simply run FULLUPDATE-this will update the masterlist also.

Use:

For Excel 2010, ensure you mark C:\mrp51 as a trusted folder before launching the program.

This module is for broadcasting and capturing information from specified users (based on screen names) and key words or part numbers on Twitter.
Time- Before running any Twitter related, first enter the GMT bias and save the mrpro51.xls file using the same name-this holds the bias you entered, if you travel or there isa seasonal time change, you need to enter the bias again. This value is positive for time zones that come after the GMT and negative for those that come before. This is very important. Next you will need a Twitter account, as you will be prompted for your name and details by Twitter to obtain a PIN which you must copy using select (highlight), cntrl-C (for copy) and then insert into box and cntrl-V (for paste). This should give you a ok from Twitter. Again save mrpro51.xls using the same name if you desire this token to be saved.

Main console:
Sheet mncns is referred to as the main console. Most of the operation is from here. Some operations can also be done from Sheet AF and Sheet BOM. It is necessary to know the functions of all of the sheets, so that operations in the main console can be understood. The following sections describe the use of each of the other sheets, and their relation to the main console.

BOM:
1. If using BOM enter part number and supplier id and the quantity. You can use the Load BOM utility if the BOM is available in the format of bomkp.xls, where the first row first cell has the product number and the rest of the rows are part numbers (or key words) :
for e.g. for part number X2345 supplied by supplier 25 the entry is

X2345

The demo will let only twenty part numbers be entered. Enter part numbers (key words) in column A of Sheet BOM, and enter the users' screen names whose tweets you want to search in Column B of Sheet AF. The demo will search for only 3 suppliers (users whose tweets are searched by screen name). If any tweets with ky words (part numbers) are found in the searched tweets of the users being searched, the tweets are copied and the web links within the tweets are separately copied into a communications listing file. A file called the masterlist is also updated. Pleasev ensure the masterlist is closed when making a new search, as if it is open, it will be copied onto BOM and AF and a full search will be done by default (the demo version will err out here).

The program creates a communications record for due diligence purposes. This record can also be viewed over the intranet or internet using the MrproWeb (or MrproWex client, see notes later) client and choosing the option. In the program itself the data is entered in Sheet "BOM" in columns "Document description/comments", "Document location/link" and Doc Date". Out of these three, the column titled "Document location/link" is mandatory. If there is no entry for a particular row in this column, it will not get updated. This feature works by adding the latest Document location/link to the top of a stack of records in a chronological order with the latest being on top and earliest at the bottom. When entering a new document location or link just copy and paste the URL or other address to the cell in Sheet "BOM". Enter its description or your own comments. For Product Change or update notice, be sure to use the words 'Product" and "Change" in the description. The web client (MrproWex- for the general public) is case-sensitive, so the spelling and the caps on the first letter (only) of each word is a must for filter to work correctly. For End of Life notice, similarly, the words "End" and "Life" must be present in this cell (also case-sensitive, so follow earlier procedure). In the "document date" cell, enter the record date on the document (this is optional). When you click "Out com" (short for write out Communications), the latest entry will be added to your list of communication records for that part number in the manner described above.

Sheet "AF":
This is the alternate form for BOM materials not in the BOM sheet.
(The button for "Open REACH pg" and "Open EuP pg" will not open any module unless the user has purchased those modules.)

All basic Excel commands work, copy, paste etc. You could use any of those. You will not be able to enter data where it should'nt be. So not to worry. The "Clear" menu command is disabled, as it can confuse the user. If any data needs to be taken, simply select the data and touch the "Delete" button the keyboard instead. Also, for naming files based on part numbers, one does not need to be typing it out, it can just be copied by selecting it elsewhere prior to the actual saving and just pasting, so it saves typing out long names/numbers. All these in-built advantages of Excel will be useful always.
Generally, no calculation except for aggregation/rollovers takes more than a minute. The program is meant to be robust. So if ever, the program appears stuck, it means some of the input information is wrong and the program is not finding the proper input files. In such a case, simply running a blank case will remove persistent "hour-glass". Alternately, program can be terminated and restarted.

Do not attempt to modify any of the passwords, sheets' structure or program structure. The program may not work properly if this is done. Use Paste special "values " when pasting data. If by mistake you paste data of a different color, you can just copy and paste a similar color from another cell/sheet. If, however, you copy data of a format not appropriate to the cell, you must clear all user sheets and start computations again.

**Frozen panes- Some of the Sheets, "BOM", "AF", "rin1", "rin1a, "rin2a" and the last sheet of the REACH module have frozen panes to easily enable datachecks visually. Make sure you are at the top of the sheet when you think you are.***:

Compute, Compare and Verify: The ultimate responsibility for the MCDs lies with you. MRPRO(tm) is only a tool to help you automate the process.
Best Management Practices for using MRPRO's web client: The data generated from MRPRO should be staged (see earlier description) and the data should be placed in the same directory as the URL referred to. This is a feature of using the AJAX technology, which optimizes data transfer, lightens loads on servers and increases robustness. In other words, for a URL http://www.someurl.com and a file such as yyy.xml it should be in same directory (eg., here it will be http://www.someurl.com/yyy.xml). For the web client that comes with basic package, the directory is C:\mrp51. If you place the data in some web directory, then to use the web client, you must enter the entire web address of the part number. For example, if the part number is zzz123 and the zzz1.xml file is at http://www.someurl.com, the information entered in the boxes of the web client form would be http://www.someurl.com/zzz123
Do not add the suffix ".xml", as the program will add it, after adding any other suffixes depending on the type of data requested.
To further simply all this, if you want to customize the url referred to for your own intranet or internet, so that your employees do not enter the URL each time, please contact Papros Inc. by email. Advanced packages are available for more complex applications.

The web client feature consists of two web clients, MrproWeb for the company in-house use, and MrproWex- for use for company's client/suppliers/any others authorized access to the company's site or general information site. The difference primarily is that for in-house use, in the Communications links, the web client will pull up all correspondences, communications, Product Change notices, End of Life notices and other documents related to a part number, whereas the MrproWex client meant for use by people outside the company will open the same data and filter out only the links for Product Change notices or End of Notices. Also, see the section on "Checking BOM for parts compliance " for further tips on easily deploying this feature. (The specific features are a special buy-for the general purchase just open MrproWeb.htm).

To use the MRPRO web client from your desktop find the file Mrpro7c.htm (or MrproWex if applicable for special buys) in your C:\mrp51 directory and open it using your web browser. If you use it frequently, you can create a shortcut for this file on your desktop. If viewing from your PC (where MRPRO is loaded) and same directory, the first box may be blank. In the box for part number, enter the part number. Then click any of the buttons to see data. If there is any data, it will come up immediately, otherwise there is no data of that type for that part number.

Best management practices for maintaining data subject to intra-company and supply chain open perusal-

Ensure you communicate well with IT manager to ensure that data security at file level and directory level is strictly set to "Read-Only". All other directory level and System level security should also be in place. Using standby server or system or temporary short downtime while loading new files or refreshing security is a good practice. Also ensure that when files are ftp'ed, the full names of the files are shown on the server.

Also, when using your MrproWeb client, remember it is good housekeeping practice to use an off-the-shelf Utilities program (like Norton(TM) Utilities) to clean up any components or files you did not open properly or misnamed.
